There is no right or wrong way to write a CV but make sure you include personal contact details, qualifications, work history, relevant skills, and achievements. You can also include hobbies and reference details.

CVs should be clearly presented and well structured. A recruiter’s eye will naturally fall to the upper middle area of the first page so make sure that is where you put your important information.

Recruiters are unlikely to read long CVs cover to cover so include enough relevant detail but keep it short and sweet.

  1. Understand the job description and highlight your most relevant experience

Self-explanatory really, always tailor your CV to the job you are applying for.

  1. Make the most of skills

  1. Education

List any professional qualifications, training, education and courses.

  1. Keep your CV up to date

This way you are always ready to apply for that dream job.

  1. References

Try to include two if possible or state “References available on request” if you are not happy disclosing at this stage.

  1. Interests

Highlight interests and hobbies outside of work, let know a little about you and what you enjoy doing in your spare time.
