Looking for a new job whilst still in your current role?….

We often say looking for employment can be a full time job, so we understand how difficult it is to look for a new job, apply and complete questionnaires and forms whilst you are still employed. So, here is our latest blogs covers some tips and hopefully will help you.
Before you start applying, just be clear about the type of role, the salary range and the location you are seeking. Are you looking for a hybrid role or are happy commuting to the office each day? Sometimes job offers and interviews can progress very quickly and therefore it’s best to think about it before booking interviews and it will help within being more specific in your search criteria on job sites.
Ensure your LinkedIn profile is up to date, as some employers will be reviewing your experience on here as well as your CV (some employers also run searches so ensure key words and qualifications are great to have on there for the type of employment you are seeking)..You can even connect with people of companies you are interested in working for.
This is a basic one, but do ensure your CV is up to date, take the time to update it to ensure you have the best chance of gaining an interview for the job you are qualified and experienced in.
Don’t discuss your job search with colleagues, this will ensure you don’t feel pressure to leave or disappointed if you perfect job doesn’t come along immediately.
Register with recruitment agencies – they often have jobs which aren’t being advertising by the employer and hold so much information about the role and the company which adverts and job descriptions don’t always detail
Ensure you have booked off time for interviews, even if they are online, treat your interviews as business meetings and ensure you have a private place for these if online. If they are in person, ensure you leave enough time for the journey and arrive on time and fully prepared.
At interviews be positive about previous employers.
Ensure you ask any questions that you want to know the answers for in order to consider any potential offer. Our advice is to write them down as often in interviews as you can forget.
GOOD LUCK!
