Businesses of all sizes and industries are offering placements, either via apprenticeship or internship, providing opportunities for people entering the workforce or graduates to gain relevant skills and experience in a particular area of business or a technical skill. It’s a fantastic way of gaining some on the job experience as well has gained further qualifications, whether you are leaving college or school or you are already working and want to increase your qualifications and skills whilst working.
What Is An Apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship is paid employment for over 16s, combining work and study in a job allowing an employer to develop their workforce and business.
What does it cost
Apprentice minimum wage and 5% training contribution depending on business size
What are the Benefits
You develop a motivated, skilled and qualified workforce with knowledge of your business
How long does it take
Minimum of 12 months employment
There are also the more recent T Levels which are industry placements. These offer students studying a short term 45 days industry placement. This is a free government scheme and is free to the employer (there may be some of your own business costs)
Again these placements allows employers to grow their workforce in the short-term with little or no cost and scout future talent.
What are the benefits for apprentice?
