The ultimate role model

On this sad and emotional day, it is amazing to reflect on the impact of the Queen for so many of us and I believe we can learn a lot from her example.

  • A strong work ethic: The Queen was the ultimate role model and leader, she kept to her word and was unwavering in her duties. She worked right up until the end with an unequalled work ethic.
  • Look the part: The Queen dressed appropriately for every occasion and there is a great deal to be said for dressing for your role or the role you hope to have.
  • Get on with it: I am sure there were plenty of royal functions where the Queen would have preferred to be somewhere else but carried on out of loyalty and service. Next time you feel like pulling out of an event, suck it up and get on with it!
  • Don’t forget to laugh: I have heard many anecdotes over the last week and a half about the Queen’s wicked sense of humour. Life can be challenging but laughing along the way always helps.
  • Stand by the people you care about: Despite challenges and scandals the Queen stood by her family and loved ones, showing tough love when needed. This can be a tricky balance to strike but is worth trying to master.
  • Remain grounded: Despite being a member of the Royal family the Queen remained down to earth. It is important to remember, no matter what our personal successes it is important to remain humble.

As we say goodbye, everyone at Alexander Mae wishes to share their condolences and deepest sympathy as we join with many paying tribute to the Queen today, honouring her extraordinary commitment and service. Thank you.
